A Chalet, ,is a type of building/house which is typically an Alpine region in Europe. Chalet also known as Swiss chalet. The house is made of wood,with a heavy,gently sloping roof and wide,well-supported rim at the front of the house. The term Chalet is a part of Switzerland and French Savoy. Chalet is originally referred to the hut of a herder. It is built in a style of Alpine. Nowadays, Chalet become the residency during summer and holidays.Chalet refers to more than just a mountain location.

In olden days, Chalet is also used for seasonal farms for dairy cattle. The herders were living in the Chalet in order to make cheese and butter in the preserved milk. Small windowless huts called mazots which were used to lock away valuable items for this period.The owners of the Chalets visit two to three times per year and rent out for the remaining time.Chalets also visited by touristers. The style of the Chalet is characterized by gabled roofs with wide rim and exposed construction beams including large brackets and it is decorated with balconies and large windows.
