Electric
meter
In each house which is electrified we can find an
electric meter over there. Inside the meter, four
or five dials measure kilowatt hours- the units of
electricity you're billed for. A kilowatt hour is
equal to 1000 watt hours. Each month a company representative
records the readings. The previous month's reading
is then subtracted from the current month’s
and a bill is prepared to pay according to the consumption.
