Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein was a German-born theoretical physicist who discovered the theory of general relativity, implementing a revolution in physics. He received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his services to theoretical physics, and particularly for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect. He was born in Ulm, in the Kingdom of Wurttemberg in the German Empire on 14 March 1879.
From 1936 until his death, this was the house of Albert Einstein (1879-1955), German-born theoretical physicist and Nobel Prize winner (1921). Einstein is best remembered for his achievement in three theoretical directions: the special theory of relativity, the general theory of relativity and unified field theory.
The house was probably built in the 1870's or 1880's. The house is a simple pattern-book cottage and in itself is of no exacting architectural significance.
Albert Einstein reportedly requested that this house not be made a museum, and the family did not want it to be standard as such. Nonetheless it was added to the National Register of Historic Places and further designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 1976.
