Mark Twain

The Mark Twain House and Museum was the house of Mark Twain from 1874 to 1891 in Hartford, Connecticut, USA. Before 1874, twain had lived in Hannibal, Missouri. The architectural style of the 19-room home is Victorian Gothic. The house is also notable for the major works written during his residency, including The Gilded Age, The Prince and the Pauper, Life on the Mississippi, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, A Tramp Abroad, and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court.
One of the most famous and photographed Victorian homes is the Mark Twain House. A wonderful building to behold, it is in mint condition inside and out. The painted brick designs on the wall surfaces and the huge variety of stick work that adorns the exterior on gables, porches and entries is remarkable. Set in a very picturesque place, this is a must see property.
