Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar is a well known sporting legend and famously known as the “God of Cricket”.Sachin was born in Mumbai and started is professional Cricket Career at a tender age of 16.

He had won all the awards a cricketer would get in his life time but he had a dream of building a house of his own. Back in 2008 he purchased an old villa near Carter Road, which in situated in suburban Mumbai in Bandra West.

Reports state that Tendulkar purchased the Dorab Villa from “Satra Group”, for a reported sum of an astounding Rs. 35 crore rupees.The Dorab Villa was originally built in the 1920s.The house had one storey, and measures around 9,000 square feet. The property covers a total of 10,000 square feet.

The newly constructed house is a brain child of Mexican architect Javier Senosiain. House is snail shaped with an interior garden. The kitchen is tongue shaped and the bed room is two wayed. The living room has a couch that reminds us of a jellyfish and is told to have been built around a well in the floor. The accessories in the bathrooms, like the showers and the taps are shaped like trunks and cascades, to complete the ‘living-underwater’ experience.

The colors schemes have been used in accordance with the theme and have created a living space found nowhere else on the earth. Built from an iron lattice support filled with cement, this house is unlikely to collapse under pressure of the earthquakes that periodically strike the city.
