Salvo Palace) is a building in Montevideo is located.
It was designed by the architect Mario Palanti,
and finished in 1925. Standing 100 m high, it was
the tallest
building in South
America at the time. It was built on the location
where the Confiteria La Giralda was once located,
a place renowned for being where Gerardo Matos Rodríguez
wrote his tango La Cumparsita, in 1917.
